KEN KABATOFF
DIRECTOR

Ken Kabatoff is an award-nominated writer, director, and producer with more than eighteen years of experience in film and television. His work has reached millions of viewers worldwide, including three seasons on the acclaimed Netflix science-fiction series Travelers, where he advanced to co-producer. In 2020, he received a Writers Guild of Canada Award nomination for Best Drama Series for his final episode of the show.

As a director, Ken has created multiple short films that screened internationally. He received the Directors Guild of Canada BC Emerging Greenlight Award to direct The Doukhobor, a deeply personal horror film that became a key creative calling card. He recently completed his feature directorial debut, Remnant, an independently financed horror film that is entering the festival and international sales marketplace. 

CHRISTOPHER NASH
WRITER

Christopher Nash is a screenwriter, independent filmmaker, film critic, and academic whose work explores new meaning within familiar forms and genres. He holds a Master's degree in English from Dalhousie University, where his thesis reconsidered Harold Bloom's arguments on literary utility. During his schooling, he received several major awards including the Governor General's Silver Medal.

Christopher has written, produced, and directed several no-budget features and operates a YouTube channel releasing micro-budget independent films, with an emphasis on horror and cult cinema. His film criticism has appeared in Vancouver Weekly and BeatRoute, and his academic criticism has appeared in The Dalhousie Review and W49.  He wrote the screenplay for Remnant and serves as a producer on the film. 

MIKE JOHNSTON
PRODUCER

Mike Johnston is an award-winning Canadian producer and co-founder of Studio 104 Entertainment, which appeared on Playback's Indie List in 2023 and 2024. He participated in the Whistler Film Festival Documentary Lab and Producer's Lab and represented Canada at the 2023 European Film Market through Telefilm Canada's Producers Without Borders program.

His credits include ESPN 30 for 30 documentary I'm Just Here for the Riot, Crave Original The Grizzly Truth, Wild Goat Surf, Delta Dawn, Curl Power, Send the Rain, and Remnant. Curl Power became TELUS's top-performing theatrical release and screened on 73 screens across Canada. Mike was nominated for the Kevin Tierney Emerging Producer Award, named one of Playback Magazine's 10 to Watch, and is a member of the Canadian Media Producers Association. 

MATTHEW CERVI
Executive producer

Matthew began his professional career working in Los Angeles for notable companies like Valhalla Motion Pictures (The Walking Dead, The Terminator) and Lighthouse Productions (Mimic, The Sting) before moving back to Vancouver and producing the award-winning short Milo 55160 starring Patrick McKenna.

Building on that success, Matthew produced his first feature The Colony starring Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton and produced his second feature Cruel & Unusual in partnership with EOne, Corus Entertainment and Bell Media. He followed that with Juggernaut, starring Jack Kesy and Amanda Crew, in partnership with levelFILM and Telefilm Canada.

Matthew continues to develop projects for the film and television landscape, recently producing the feature The Island Between Tides (aka The Lost Daughter), inspired by the story Mary Rose from J.M. Barrie who created the iconic Peter Pan, starring Donal Logue, Adam Beach, David Mazouz and Paloma Kwiatkowski and Executive Producing the film Hard Home starring Andrew Howard and Simone Kessell for Paramount Pictures. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the USC School of Cinema/Television and attended the Producer’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre.
