We're thrilled to announce that our incredible Remnant team has received four prestigious Leo Award nominations for our horror short film, The Doukhobor. These nominations are not just a celebration of individual talent, but a testament to the strength and synergy of a team that's now bringing our new horror feature, Remnant, to life.

Creating The Doukhobor was deeply personal and immensely rewarding. My writing and producing partner, Christopher Nash, tackled the complexities and emotional depths of this story with sensitivity and insight, making the script resonate profoundly. Cole Hewlett expertly guided the film into reality, producing with vision, care, and clarity—qualities he continues to bring to Remnant.
Roberta Menezes crafted a wardrobe that authentically and masterfully captured the unique Doukhobor aesthetic, seamlessly aging and utilizing every piece. Her meticulous approach and dedication to authenticity will also elevate the visual storytelling of Remnant.
Blake Matthew composed an unforgettable score deeply rooted in my Doukhobor heritage, skillfully navigating the tonal complexities of horror and emotional depth. His remarkable talent for music will once again enhance the atmosphere and narrative tension in Remnant.
Our extraordinary cast, especially Talisa Mae Stewart, who carried the emotional weight of Helen Chernoff’s childhood and the experiences of countless Freedomite Doukhobor children, delivered performances that were nothing short of transformative. It’s this caliber of acting and emotional honesty we continue to strive for in Remnant.
Our amazing camera operator, Jay Kamal, brought boundless creativity and vision to each and every frame, ensuring that the visual storytelling was both captivating and memorable. Additionally, our director of photography for The Doukhobor, Ali Hodayi, brilliantly sculpted shadow and light to heighten tension and mood, and we're thrilled to have him return to color Remnant.
To every member of our cast and crew—whether nominated or not—your outstanding work on The Doukhobor continues to inspire. The collaboration, passion, and creativity we’ve cultivated together are precisely what make our current project, Remnant, so exciting and promising.
These Leo Award nominations reinforce something we’ve always known: our team is exceptional. As we move forward with Remnant, we're energized by the recognition, inspired by our collective achievements, and eager to share more groundbreaking work with you all.
Stay tuned—there’s much more to come!
