Remnant - An Independent Horror Film From KABATOFF/NASH

We have a very exciting announcement. Remnant has officially cleared a major hurdle and is slated for production this fall!

This project has been a labor of love, written by the incredibly talented Christopher Nash, produced by the unstoppable Cole Hewlett, and yes—directed by yours truly. I can't begin to express how thrilled I am to finally share this news with you.

For those wondering what kind of film we're making, Remnant is a full-on throwback to the old-school Blumhouse classics that changed the horror landscape—think Insidious, The Conjuring, and even Mike Flanagan's Oculus. This is a movie designed from the ground up to be experienced on the biggest screens possible with full audiences jumping, screaming, and clutching the person next to them. It's entertaining, it's propulsive, and it's scary as hell. We are beyond excited to get this thing out into the world.

Where We Stand

The big update is that we've locked in a major piece of financing, which is what's allowing us to officially announce our fall production timeline. While we still have more money to raise (indie filmmaking is nothing if not a constant hustle), we're moving forward with confidence and have started locking in crew, scouting locations, and assembling the other essential elements needed to bring this vision to life.

And speaking of financing—we're absolutely open to meeting with more private investors. If you or anyone in your network has ever considered dipping a toe into the indie film world by helping finance a low-budget horror movie with serious commercial potential, now's your chance. This is a $1M project with an experienced team who knows how to stretch every dollar. Shoot us an email (kabatoffnash@gmail.com), and let's chat about what that partnership could look like.

Following Our Journey

I'm also excited to announce that our website has officially launched! We'll be using this platform to keep subscribers updated throughout our entire journey from script to screen—the triumphs, the challenges, and yes, even the occasional meltdowns that come with trying to privately finance an indie film in today's landscape.

As we continue attaching crew members, we'll be featuring their work and backgrounds on the site. And very soon, you'll be able to access creative materials like our tone deck and investor package to get a better sense of the visual language and commercial potential of "Remnant."

We Need Your Help

The future always seems uncertain in independent filmmaking—that's just the nature of the beast. But what I am certain about is that with our team and our collective experience, we can absolutely pull this off. That said, we need your support and word of mouth to help us spread the news that this movie is happening and create the momentum we need to cross the finish line.

And if you'd like to be directly involved? We're all ears. Whether you have skills to contribute in a crew capacity, or expertise in marketing, distribution, post-production, exhibition, or literally anything else that might help us succeed—reach out. Let's start that conversation. No contribution is too small when you're building something from the ground up.

Final Thoughts

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that once Remnant is made, it's going to find its audience and be a success. What I also know with equal certainty is that we can't do this alone. It takes a village to make a movie, and that village starts with all of you reading this right now.

Thank you for your support, your enthusiasm, and for being part of this journey with us. This is just the beginning.

Ken
